The tech giant is looking to hire hundreds of employees in California to build data centers, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Google Fiber said it was looking to fill an engineering position with about 500 employees, and that the job would not be at Google’s headquarters.
The jobs would be located in San Jose, Silicon Valley, or Mountain View, California, Google said in a statement.
Google said it will pay employees a median of $50,000 a year.
The company is looking forward to building and testing data centers in the Bay Area, which are critical for Google Fiber’s plans to expand into more places.
Google recently announced that it plans to build fiber optic lines in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.
Google’s fiber optic network is expected to be deployed in 2019.
